Frequently Asked Questions

Who is SweatStack for?

SweatStack is central place for all your sports data that makes it incredibly easy for 3rd party applications to access your data. Individual users typically use SweatStack through a 3rd party app and only need to use SweatStack directly to setup and manage their account or data.

How do I connect my data?

Go to the integrations section in your settings and enable the integration you want to connect to.

At the moment, SweatStack integrates directly with Garmin Connect and Intervals.icu. More integrations are coming soon! Note that Intervals.icu supports many more platforms than SweatStack, so can be used as a proxy.

My device is not supported

At the moment, SweatStack integrates directly with Garmin Connect and Intervals.icu. More integrations are coming soon! Note that Intervals.icu supports many more platforms than SweatStack, so can be used as a proxy.

Why is my data not showing up?

When you have enabled an integration in SweatStack, you can expect your data to start showing up in the app within 30 seconds. All your historical data is typically backfilled within 10 minutes and new data is processed as it comes in and should appear within a few minutes after it is synced from your wearable or app.

If your data does not show up, please check the following:

  • Check that you have enabled the integration in SweatStack on https://app.sweatstack.no/settings/sharing. A green checkmark indicates that the integration is enabled.
  • Check that there is actually data to be fetched from the integration.
  • Integrations that act as a proxy for Strava (i.e. forwarding activities from Strava; for example Intervals.icu) are legally restricted to forward Strava activities to SweatStack.

Why can't SweatStack integrate directly with Strava?

SweatStack cannot offer direct Strava integration because Strava's terms don't allow us to forward your data through our API to other apps - which is the whole purpose of SweatStack! SweatStack exists to make your fitness data easily accessible to any app you choose, but Strava's policies prevent this kind of data sharing.

The best solution is to connect your fitness device directly to SweatStack at https://app.sweatstack.no/settings/sharing. This way: - Your activities sync directly from your device to SweatStack - Your data flows freely to any app you authorize

If your device isn't listed yet, please email [email protected] and we'll look into adding support for it.

In the meantime, Intervals.icu has excellent support for many platforms and devices and can act as a bridge between your device and SweatStack (just note that activities originally from Strava still can't be forwarded due to the restrictions mentioned below).

Why doesn't Intervals.icu forward my Strava activities?

Intervals.icu cannot forward Strava activities to SweatStack due to legal restrictions imposed by Strava's privacy policies.

To get your activity data into SweatStack, we recommend connecting your wearable device directly to SweatStack at https://app.sweatstack.no/settings/sharing. This way, your activities will sync directly from your device manufacturer without having to go through Strava and/or Intervals.icu. If your device is not supported by SweatStack directly, you can use Intervals.icu as a proxy.

"Integration already associated with a different user" error

This error occurs when you try to connect an integration (like Garmin Connect) that is already linked to another SweatStack account. This can happen in two scenarios:

  1. You previously enabled this integration with a different SweatStack account
  2. You previously logged in directly using this integration (e.g., "Login with Garmin")
  1. First logout of your current account (go to https://app.sweatstack.no/logout)
  2. Login with the integration at app.sweatstack.no/express-login (this logs you into the account that has the integration enabled)
  3. Delete the integration at https://app.sweatstack.no/settings/sharing
  4. Logout and login with your new account
  5. Enable the integration again via https://app.sweatstack.no/settings/sharing

Solution 2: Use the existing account

Abandon your current account and directly login to the other account using the integration at app.sweatstack.no/express-login.

Warning

Currently you cannot reuse an email address from another account. Account deletion requires a manual request to [email protected].

How can I reload all my data?

Reloading all your historical activity data is a 3-step process:

  1. Delete all the existing activity data: Go to your profile page and click on the "delete all my activities" button at the bottom of the page in the "Danger Zone" section.
  2. Delete your current integration(s): Go to your integrations page and click on the "delete" button next to the integration(s) you want to remove.
  3. Re-add the integration: Go to your integrations page and click on the "authorize" button next to the integration(s) you want to (re-)add and follow the instructions.

After these steps, your data will be re-synced in the background.

How do I give someone access to my data?

Ask the person you want to authorize to go to the integrations section in their settings and copy the link at the top and send it to you. When you click on the link, you will be asked to give this user access to your data.

How do I access my data via the API?

Go to the integrations section in your settings and generate an API token. Then go to the interactive API docs to start exploring the API. Check out the developer docs at developer.sweatstack.no to find out more.
